Selvino Poloni, that would happen to be the only Italian ever, winning the Tour of Bulgaria, turned professional in 1970, just for two years, never winning anything anymore. His younger brother Pietro, was a (modest) professional rider too.

Regarding the (individual) final ranking, this is the worst edition ever for Bulgaria with only 2 riders in the top-20 !
