THE Davao A-Team Inday Sara Cycling Team clocked a total of 51 hours, 19
minutes, and 46.439 seconds after four stages to capture the 682-kilometer Race
For Peace First Tour of Mindanao crown and bag the P100,000 champion's purse.
The Davao B-University of Mindanao (UM) timed 51:24:6.5999 to finish second
while Cagayan de Oro City team registered 51:52:32.423 for third place in the
race organized by Radio Mindanao Network (RMN) and Samahang Siklista Kooperatiba
ng Dabaw (SSikad). UM received P75,000 while Cagayan de Oro got P50,000.
The Davao C-Everest 97 Drugs and General Santos City finished fourth and fifth
places, respectively.
Everest registered 51:54:54.269 for the P30,000 cash prize, while General Santos
finished in 51:55:40.879 to pocket P20,000 in the race, which was organized to
promote peace in conflict-torn Mindanao, supervised by PhilCycling
vice-president for Mindanao Salvador Paholio Jr. and recognized by the UCI Inter
Continental arm, Asian Cycling Confederation.
